Judge faces strong opposition

How would you like to be at Thanksgiving dinner with these people? There’s an attorney running for a judicial position in Oklahoma and is facing strong opposition…from his daughter. There is some bad blodd between this father and daughter and has resulted in a website, newspaper ad and other publicity trying to keep this guy out [...]

Red Dead Redemption

Yes, I am an adult who does more than play the social games on Facebook or the casual games on Nintendo’s Wii. Right now, I am engrossed in Red Dead Redemption, the latest offering from Rockstar. These guys do open world games like no one else and this one is set in the old West, [...]

The (football) Gambler

Brett Favre, you gotta know when to fold’em, meaning walk away. Favre shared with USA Today that he feels he could play until he’s 50. Now, he might be able to play until then, but will he be any good or any kind of difference maker for the team he’s on? I think we all [...]

Hayward to step down

This couldn’t have happened sooner. BP’s CEO is DOA as of October 1. Not only was he a condescending jerk concerning the Gulf oil spill, he was a complete idiot who showed no remorse for anything his company had done. Good riddance, Tony Hayward.

Paper cloning

Who would this be aimed at? Little girls looking to make a life-size paper doll? My question is: where does this type of idea live in your brain? Can it be put to better use? And if not, can you have a selective lobotomy? This is just a waste of paper and time.

Star Wars game for iPhone

This is about the only thing that would make me buy an iPhone right about now. Some genius designed a real-time strategy game for the iPhone based on the famous battle for Hoth from “The Empire Strikes Back.” Controlling Rebel forces with the touch of a screen? I’ll sign up for that.

NBA players

I’m not a big fan of basketball, never realy have been, but I am a sports fan and do follow the wheelings and dealings. The recent LeBron James move provoked a comment from Michael Jordan about how he wanted to beat Bird and Magic and therefore his championship rings mean more. I agree with that [...]

Facebook sucks

At least, that’s what a poll conducted by the University of Michigan. Facebook 64 out of 100 in customer satisfaction, putting it in line with cable companies and airlines in terms of customer satisfaction. With all the changes to the layout, the glut of “interactive” games, and commercialization, Facebook has become as hated as it [...]

James Gammon 1940-2010

We’re losing great actors and entertainers quickly these days it seems. I’ve seen more high profile deaths in the past two years than I did in the five years preceding. the latest addition is actor James Gammon, a gravely voiced character actor best known for playing the no nonsense manager in “Major League.” He hada [...]

Recycling plastic

As if the story can’t get worse, not only are we relying on foregin oil too much, not only are we too dependent upon crude oil to make plastic which is used everywhere in our daily lives but now if we try to recycle said plastic, only 7.1% is actually getting recycled. So it doesn’t [...]
