I’ve been fortunate enough to live through the John Elway era and two Superbowl rings but I’ve been surviving the playoff drought since he retired. Over the last few years there has been a revolving door of players to root for but longevity and team/player loyalty is in short hand. I’ve purchased a lot of NFL gear over the years but most of it has since been retired to the closet. After, I can’t wear a jersey of a player that defected to Kansas City can I?

So, I bit the bullet and ordered an “on field” jersey with my own number and name on it. Now, I can cut back on buying jerseys and support my team in a personalized and dedicated fashion! Best buy of the year if you ask me!

My oldest son even asked for a football for his birthday. I was so proud to go out and buy him is first football! I have a tradition of wearing my favorite jersey on the day my team plays and I’m thinking of getting some NFL apparel for kids so I can pass that tradition on to my sons (even if they do root for their mom’s favorite team.) Football was one of the rare things I was able to connect with my father about and no matter what was going on we could always discuss and often debate over whose team was better. I remember those days fondly and I really hope I can continue the tradition of debating whose team is better and the tradition of me always being right!
